Semana 8
Taco count for the week: 18
Taco count total: 98
So I hit 3 months in the mission this last week.....
WHAAAT?!?!
It blows my mind how fast everything is happening!
I knooow I say it EVERY week!
But it`s true.
So the whole "adjusting to missionary life"
la lucha es real!!!!
I have adjusted to basically everything rather easily, but there are two things that somehow I just can`t get through my head:
1. Showing affection towards those of the opposite sex
2. Not dancing
With the first one... ugh. I am THEEEE WOOORST!!!
It`s never on purpose and it`s never me that does anything but whenever someone goes in the for the cultural kiss on the cheek...
I just do it.
Then after realize I can`t!!
This past week was bad though.
My companion and I actually had to PRACTICE what I should do in these situations....
hahahahaha
I felt good and prepared for the next time this happened!!!
Then Sunday came along...
When we had transfers, my area changed. I had told two of my investigators that I wouldn`t be teaching them anymore but that other missionaries were going to come to their house. They were both super sad. I told them they could see me every week if they came to church.
Sneaky sneaky... ha!
Sneaky sneaky... ha!
This week when they walked in the doors the husband saw me and and WE BOTH got super excited! I held my hand out to shake his and he just grabbed it and pulled me in for a big hug!!!
The funniest part was that I was standing with all the other missionaries and RM`s in the ward.
He and his wife left to go sit down and I turned around and every one just gave me "THE LOOK."
I just put my head down and said....
"Perdon."
I`m gonna work on this.
no more hugs.
no more kisses.
The other has gotten better with time. It`s just so hard because there is ALWAYS music!!!
Everywhere we go in the streets you can hear music.
I always start small and then I just get caught up in it... Then realize what I`m doing.
Don`t worry... I promise I am an obedient missionary=)
For the first time yesterday I straight up couldn`t eat the food...
I`m usually fine if I don`t know what it is.
I would ask what I was eating when I first got here and they would tell me, but I never understood.
Now I understand and have learned what different things are.
We eat a ton of soup.
I don`t get how a boiling hot bowl of soup sounds appetizing in this weather. But,
regardless, it`s what we always eat!
Yesterday she put my bowl in front of me and it just looked like
chunks of chicken in a clear broth.
I put a bunch of lime and cilantro in it for flavor and started to eat it....
There was a piece of the meat that was sticking out of the bowl and I turned to my companion and asked her why the chicken had fur on it?
She just laughed and kept eating. Hmmm.
It tasted AWFUL.
super squishy with NOOO flavor... plus it was a weird white color.
I finally asked what it was.
The sister across from me just pointed at her stomach.
That was it!!
After that I COULD NOT eat anymore.
Was I was eating STOMACH FUR?!? I snuck my food in to the bowl of my comp
and she finished it for me.
The food in Mexico is KILLER GOOD........ 99.9998% of the time.
Because of this I am also getting fatter. Ha, welcome to the mission.
One of the sisters came up to me laughing to herself.... with her hand over her mouth
looked up at me poked my stomach and said,
"you`re getting fatter."
Then she chuckled and walked away.
Awesome.
I should probably slow down on the tacos....
I don`t know how I luck out with companions every single time!!
Hermana Ruiz is awesome=)
We get laughing about the STUPIDEST things... but we are always laughing=)
We work really well as companions, too... in lessons and teaching and everything.
Both of us are learning the area... since it`s new to us, BOTH.
But our investigators are doing really well.
We have a baptism this Saturday=)=)
We made invitations for her to give to the members and family members.
I snuck her the envelope at the end of sacrament and she let out a little squeal and the whole congregation turned and looked!
It was the cutest thing to watch her run around the chapel giving one to EVERYONE!!!
She is the SWEETEST and super ready for the gospel.
She honestly teaches us most of the time.
I honestly can`t even describe the happiness that the mission puts in your life=)
YES IT KICKS YOU IN THE BUTT
But I`ve never been happier=)
MUCHO MUCHO AMOOOOOR
Hermana Robinson=)
