Semana 55 - Julio 2015

Semana 55 - Julio 2015
Taco Count for the Week:  3
Total Taco Count:  588.5

안녕하세요 가족
This is honor of my awesome new companion!!!
Yup, she is my cute little Asian=)
She is from Mexico but her family is from the Philippines.
I had NO idea... hahaha
One day we were writing in our journals at night and she started singing in KOREAN!!!!
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh???

I just sat there staring with my "deer in the headlights" face.
Once she realized she looked up at me and says,
"Oh yeah.... I speak Korean."
She started explaining all about her life!
She speaks Spanish, English, Korean, and Chinese.
She is SO cool=) The swweeeetest little thing ever!!
She has a really cool culture!
She has a special way of showing respect to the people that we teach.
The first time it happened... I didn´t know what to do.
So I just followed her example and did it too!!
hahahahahahaha Que osso.
She explained after.

We are still getting to know each other... but we click super well=)

The storms are incredible here! Yesterday it DOWNPOURED!!!
we left church and it was super sunny...
as we went down the road in the bus everything started changing!
The ENTIRE sky turned BLACK.
It felt like it was the middle of the night.
Then I huge storm hit. Lasted about an hour. Then left.
Everyone is scared because they are all traumatized from the hurricane Olid from last summer.

My area is awesome=) We have lots of people to teach and that makes me happy!!
I feel like I am walking around on the beach all day.
all the roads are sand... all the houses have sand all around them=)

My first day here we ended out spending the entire day painting a house!
Inside and out.
But my favorite part was when we were driving home=)
She has one of those cool island jeeps!
We all piled in and hit the highway!!
No music just staring at the stars singing hymns!
One of those little moments!

Today we went early to the beach!!
I almost died.
I can´t explain it but it was completely different.
I have been to the beach before... I have seen the ocean.
But sitting there at 6 in the morning the whole beach soloooo, listening to the waves=)
I was filled with the spirit!

Being able to enjoy all these amazing creations of my Father in Heaven.
Feeling just a little bit closer to Him knowing that they were all created so that I, His daughter,
would be able to enjoy it.
I said a prayer to thank Him for everything.

This week has been crazy and I feel almost like a fish out of water away from my home in Humaya
But I am getting to know everyone quickly=)

I have SO much that I want to share but I am almost out of time!
Sending all my love from Los Cabos del Mundo!!!

Yours,
Hermana Robinson

Semana 54 - Julio 2015

Semana 54 - Julio 2015
Taco Count for the Week: 8
Total Taco Count: 585.50

Well...my 9 months in Humaya has officially come to an end=(
This transfer is the definition of the word Bitter-Sweet.
It honestly hurts me knowing that I have to leave.
This ward and these people have completely touched my heart.

One day we were taking the bus from one end of our area to the other.
As I watched out the window I sat thinking about the time I have spent here, totally depressing, I know.
I just love these people so much!

I have had the opportunity to be here for Christmas,
New Years,
my half mark, my year mark,
and my birthday.
I have had 3 INCREDIBLE companions!!
Starting with my dear Hna Iniestra=)
My best friend/sister Hna Christensen!!
and my beloved HIIIIJA Hna Perez=)

I think more than anything the transfers were the hardest for Hna Perez...
Saying goodbye to your Mama is always hard=(
When they told us the transfers she cried really hard.
She was worried about her new companion
But she still kept her sense of humor through all of it!
Through tears she looked up at me and says, (in complete seriousness)
"HERMANA WHAT IF SHE HAS A STICK UP HER BUTT??
WHAT, AM I GOING TO DO??"
I just about died laughing=)
Because that is EXACTLY how you feel your first transfer.

Man, I am gonna miss her.

But the good news is that is will be going to......

wait for it........

LOS CABOS=)=)

It is the treasure of the mission!

The coolest part is that I will be serving in the same ward that
Hna Christensen served in=)
I am currently still here in Culiacan, in a threesome, poor thing Hna Perez.
It makes it even harder on her.
But I will be flying out tomorrow morning super early.

My comp is Hna Mejia... That is literally all I know about her haha
But I will fill you in next week=)

This week was a special week!
I was able to see so many blessings that are coming to those
that are accepting and living the gospel.
A few weeks ago I sent pictures of a baptism and talked a little about the family.
I have completely fell in love with this family!!
I have spent A LOT of time trying to active them... with no luck.
The mom is stubborn.
The youngest (recent convert) is AMAZING!!!!
She goes to church without caring what her family says.
She fasted for the first time this week and was really nervous to do it.
Her and two friends started the fast together and she was the only one that endured to the end!!!!
She is reading the Book of Mormom cover to cover... and soaks up EVERY word!
She says that she is preparing to go on a mission=)

Yesterday Her older sister came to church with her.
MIRACLE!!

She had to leave after sacrament to go to work...
When we stopped by in the afternoon she shared the coolest story=)
She said that she had to be to work by 11, sacrament finishes at 10.
it takes about an hour to get there.
She waited and waited for her bus but it never passed by!
At 10:28 her bus finally passes...
She still had another bus to take after and was completely convinced that she would be late.
When she got on the second bus that normally takes more than 30 mins to pass by her work it was already almost 11.
She got on the bus and left, got off and went RUNNING into work to clock in.
When she entered everyone was sitting around super casually and asked why she was in such a hurry?!
She began explaining how late it was and
when she turned to point at the clock...
she had arrived 5 minutes early to work.

When she explained it she kept saying
"I don´t know HOW it was possible... the bus took only 8 minutes!!"
She was amazed by the experience=)

I told her...
"That´s what you get for going to church"

As we left the house walking she walked with me and thanked me...
for teaching the truth to her little sister, for helping her see
the important things in this life.
She told me she felt different while she was sitting in Sacrament meeting.
She told me that she made the decision that she was going to go to church every week and be there for her sister.
She knows her family won´t be able to pay for a mission for her sister,
but that she was going to start saving.
She wants to pay for her mission.

I promised her lots of blessings, left her with my testimony,
shed some tears, and we hugged it out.

Another family that we have been teaching made the decision
to be baptized this week=)
I was convinced that I was going to stay the 9 months because I would be able to baptize "my family"
But that´s not the way the Lord had it planned=)
But, something even more beautiful is having the opportunity to help a family get to know the gospel.

I have about a million pictures... but I wont bore you with all of them=)
But I will send more next week of Beautiful San José=)=)

I love you all so much!!=)

Semana 53 - Julio 2015

Semana 53 - Julio 2015
Taco Count for the Week:  6
Total Taco Count:  577.50

So this week We had splits for the first time in 3 months
(not sure why it happened like that).
But...I clicked with the other sister SO CRAZY FAST!!
She is in her first transfer and is just about the cutest thing ever=)
She is dying to work but unfortunately her companion... not so much.
We were walking down the Street and their área has a TON of
super "Richy Rich" houses.
There was one that I really like and asked if she had ever taught
in the houses before.
She looked at me like I was crazy...
I looked at her and said, kind of jokingly, "We knock?"
she responded and said OKAY! and ran over to the door...
We don´t knock doors here.
I think it was the first time I have legitimately knocked a door.
I put on my cool face but was a little nervous inside.
We sat there waiting for them to answer
and I was thinking of what to say.
It was cute because the other sister was so excited!!
The look on her face just about killed me.
Well, they never answered.
But she was really excited to try something new=)

All of our investigators are doing SO good!!! It makes me so sad to
know that I will be leaving soon.
But, we are teacher someone that is so crazy prepared for the góspel!
It is always such a blessing to teach these people.
The ones that bear the most powerful testimonies
about something you have just finished teaching.
The people that call you a day after the visit
because they have already read the chapters that we left for them to read
and they want to know what else they can read.
The people that look and find for their own fellow shippers.
That´s exactly how this hermano is.
He is already inviting everyone to his baptism=)
The lessons are always so spiritual
because he is going through some really difficult stuff.
But seeing how much he has changed just over these past couple weeks is something so BEAUTIFUL=)
I am excited to see how it all turns out=)

Saturday was a really great day for us!!
When we left in the morning and said our prayer we prayed that the Lord would put us exactly where he needed us.
We normally always pray for this "put" but when we said the prayer
it was just a little more sincere than normal.

We got walking and one of our appointments fell through. We both were strongly prompted to walk a certain way...

We started without knowing where we needed to go.

As we were walking we heard someone call out from behind us, "HERMANA!"

We froze just looking at each other.
We turned and walked back to where we heard the voice.
At the same time came a man running to flag us down.

He invited us in his store offered a seat and said,
"Share your message with me."

We started talking a Little sang a song said a prayer and began to talk about the family.
As we were talking he immediately started crying!

He explained everything that was going on in his life and is very excited to hear our message.

Later that night we were walking and another man started yelling,
 "God Bless you!"

He called us over and said...
"My wife is waiting for you in the house.
She is on her knees praying you will come... go to her."

I know... kind of weird huh.

So we stopped by the house!
SURE ENOUGH!

We found an older lady in her front room on her knees...
praying that we would stop by.

She was so excited to see us=)

Never be afraid to be specific in your prayers!
It really makes the biggest difference!

Love you all=)
Gotta run!

This week absolutely flew by!!
But it was absolutely incredible!!

The past few weeks have been hard.
It´s difficult to explain why...
But they have been full of challenges.

This week we were both super excited to get to work and do our part.
This week we had SOOO many prayers answered.

One thing that is so great in this ward is that the members are SO willing to help us in this work.
It´s super normal to go on splits with the members (Divide and Conquer).
I have been hesitant with Hermana Perez and I knew that she felt uncomfortable to go on her own anyway.
I decided the time was now.
TO JUST JUMP IN.
So we set everything up for divisions.

We normally divide and one of us focuses on having lessons, putting baptismal dates, and getting references.
The other focuses on contacting, first lessons and new investigators.
it works REALLY well!

Well, I sent Hermana Perez on all the difficult lessons.
I know...I am so cruel.
BUT, I know how ready she is!!
It was my way of helping her see it.
She had a lesson about the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity.
She was also in charge of putting 3 new baptismal dates.
I gave her a hug wished her luck and sent her off=)

We met back up at the chapel and had a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader.
When I walked in she was BEAMING!!!!
She was just dying to tell me everything that had happened.
From the look on her face I presumed it went fairly well...
So I asked her
"How did it go?"

She EXPLODED and said
"WE HAVE A BAPTISM THIS SATURDAY!!"

I stood there in shock!!
I didn´t doubt for a minute that she wouldn´t do it...
I think it just never occurred to me for THIS WEEK!!

We arranged everything super fast and we had I think one of the most spiritual baptisms I have ever been too.

She is a youngin!! But she has such a powerful testimony!!
She was beyond ready=)
Her family (Mom and Sister) are less active.
I have spent the last 9 months working with them...
For the first time I was able to see the whole family at church.

I can´t even begin to describe how happy it made me.

I love this ward so stinking much,
I had a really spiritual experience yesterday in Relief Society.
I don´t think I have felt so much love in one room at a time!
All the sisters got together and went to visit all the sister that are alone.
Divorced. Widowed. Separated.
They made a special dinner, brought dessert, shared something with them and spent the evening talking and getting to know each other.

The sisters shared all their experiences that were just beautiful.
I´ll never forget it.

In the middle of these experiences the Primary teacher came in and told us that the primary was working to do a service project.
She presented two representatives from the primary.
They went in front and explained how they had been working for a few week to gather food to give to a Sister in the ward.
They shared who they had chosen... and I lost it. ha
Then all these little kids flooded in bringing bags of groceries for this sister.
She sat with her arms folded just looking at all the food crying.
She didn´t know what to say but jsut kept saying
"Gracias. gracias. gracias."

This ward is so loving and serving and has been such a great example to me of Christlike Love=)

Remember to love and show love EVERY chance you get,
Life is hard enough on it´s own. But you can make someones day=)

LOVE YOU ALL!!!

and Happy 4th of July!!!
